Tell Congress To Investigate BP and OBAMA!
ALERT: When BP's Gulf of Mexico oil platform burned and sank, it killed 11 workers and opened the most destructive ocean gusher of all time - and President Obama didn't say a thing about the horrendous oil pollution for a month!

FAX All Congressmen - Demand a real investigation of BP!
Why?
Is it because the president has received more in political contributions from BP - $77,051 - than any other federal candidate in the last 20 years? Or that BP's top employees gave even more in 2008: $87,901!
And why has foreign oil company BP - British Petroleum - bungled around failing to stop their undersea gusher for so long?
Is it because London-based BP - fourth largest corporation in the world - knows the oil mess will enrage Americans against offshore drilling and send our rigs and jobs to other oil-rich countries where government regulation isn't so expensive?
Americans need to know how things went so wrong in the Gulf - and WHY!
Congress needs to call BP executives on the carpet - not just with Senate hearings, lame excuses and no action - but a real dig-out-the-dirt investigation.
BP is giving free enterprise a bad name and turning Americans against our richest domestic energy resource - offshore oil production.
President Obama is already using the gusher as a political football to stop all American oil and gas, and convert us to his pet program of using only "alternative energy" that needs permanent taxpayer subsidies.

Should we trust London-based BP to fix its mess and pay for the entire damage to American jobs they've killed along with American wildlife they've killed?
NO!
BP's investors won't like that and will fight real damage payments!
Who are they?
Half of the top six institutional stockholders of BP are foreign

| AXA Financial, Inc. (FRANCE) |

| UBS Warburg LLC (SWITZERLAND) |
$839,034,610 |

All but one of BP's Executive Board of Directors are foreign
- Carl-Henric Svanberg (SWEDEN) - Chairman
- Andy Inglis (GREAT BRITAIN) - Chief executive, Exploration and Production
- Tony Hayward (GREAT BRITAIN) - CEO/MD BP Worldwide
- Ian Conn (SCOTLAND) - Executive Director, BP Group
- Byron Grote (AMERICAN) - Chief Financial Officer
BP's investors and BP's board don't have America's interests at heart.
Americans need to know that BP, backed by its top investors, will take responsibility for the damage they have done to our great nation.
The United States Congress can't compel testimony from foreign witnesses in hearings, so just holding more hearings IS USELESS!
ONLY an in-depth, naming-names, serious INVESTIGATION will do.

We already know some of the things a real BP investigation will find:
BP was nationalized for a long time:
- British Petroleum was a socialist experiment, nationalized by the United Kingdom, which owned 70 percent of the company from 1974 to the mid-1980s! Old socialist ways of thinking stayed with the company even after the U.K. sold off all its shares in the 1980s.
- Hard to believe this socialist background? It's true. In fact, it lasted even longer than the official record shows. After World War I, Winston Churchill, while First Lord of the Admiralty, bought a 50% stake in British Petroleum for the nation. That gave the Government a half-interest. Then, in 1974, the Bank of England bought a 25% stake from Burmah Oil, which made the U.K. Government directly or indirectly BP's unquestionable majority shareholder, which thus made it technically "nationalized," even though it had decades of Government intervention by that time.
BP still thinks like a socialist instrument, a part of the government apparatus, willing to do what politics wants. That may be why Obama has been so reluctant to blister BP about its Gulf gusher: he's pretty sure BP will go along with whatever energy policy he comes up with.
Only a real investigation will get to the bottom of this question!

Here's something scary a real BP investigation will find:
- The most important foreign investment in the United States today is BP's Alaskan holdings, which include the ownership of almost half of the Trans Alaska Pipeline and more than half of the oil in the rich Prudhoe Bay oil field.
- The Prudhoe Bay find contained upwards of 40 percent of the entire nation's proven oil reserves - not counting our vast offshore oil reserves, which may now face political doom.
So BP won't mind losing offshore oil production as much if it can get assurances to increase production from its on-shore Alaska holdings.
But think of what that means to the oil rigs and crews that have been producing offshore oil safely and efficiently for decades. BP will sell them out by putting its huge lobbying clout behind Obama's energy policy - CO2 emissions rules that will shut down whole industries; sky-high gasoline prices; rationing electricity with "smart grid" controls that provide what you're allowed, not what you're willing to pay for.
Don't forget: BP regularly lobbies on Capitol Hill. In 2009, BP spent a massive $16 million to influence legislation. During the first quarter of 2010, it spent $3.53 million on federal lobbying efforts, ranking it second (behind ConocoPhillips) among all oil and gas industry interests.
When you have that much lobbying clout preaching roll-over-and-play-dead for Obama, our traditional oil and gas industries will really be dead.
Only a serious investigation can reveal what BP is doing to American politics!
