WASHINGTON

11/05/08 WASHINGTON The Will of the People  Ron Arnold essay: Change has come and the fate of American free enterprise will soon be in the hands of President Barack Obama and his Cabinet officers - as well as the large Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate. The voice of free enterprise needs to be at the table when big decisions are made, and the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise intends to be there with a well-thought-out transpartisan program designed to face reality: to agree wholeheartedly where possible, and, when necessary, to disagree strongly without being disagreeable. In politics, it's never over.

Remaking America - in whose image? If you wondered what Barak Obama has in mind for your future, take a look at the "clean energy" agenda of the Apollo Alliance - most of his ideas come from that source. When you look at the graphic, remember that all those wonderful changes are supposed to replace fossil fuels, which now give us 85% of our energy, with solar and wind, which combined now supply less than one percent (1%) of America's energy.

09/02/08 IT'S THE ENERGY, STUPID!
Energy Crisis Apparently Shifts Attitudes Of Americans Fad fades: When it comes to environmental concerns, more Americans are starting to think less about global warming and more about energy, according to a recent survey. Global warming has been a top environmental issue for many since the release of Al Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth." However, with a lagging economy, many Americans priorities have shifted towards pushing energy issues to the forefront, the survey showed. Americans are also shifting the blame for environmental woes. The survey found that many used to blame private industry but more now blame the government.

08/07/08 EPA REJECTS TEXAS GOVERNOR'S PLEA TO STOP SUICIDAL CORN ETHANOL PRODUCTION
Texas Gov. Rick Perry petitioned the EPA in April to cut their corn ethanol production for summer gasoline additives by 50% because the diversion of food to fuel is raising food prices and starving our livestock.
When Perry requested the waiver, corn was $5 a bushel. When the EPA rejected his petition 3 months later, it was more than $7 a bushel and climbing. Time to shut down corn ethanol plants permanently.

08/01/08 CONGRESSIONAL EFFORT FOR ENERGY JUSTICE!
Senator James Inhofe offers Energy Justice Resolution. Bill urged by the Alliance to Stop the War on the Poor is the first congressional effort to open all public lands to energy production to fulfill their purpose of serving the public. Democrats defeated the measure, which went down on a party-line vote. This is only the beginning of the struggle to disempower anti-energy Big Green and its congressional lackeys.
